April 2013, Hanover, DE – To celebrate the reopening of the historic Helmkehof building in Hanover, Weinblum + Stahl was commissioned by Olaf Hauschulz, a renowned luxury-auto photographer and co-owner of the building, to conceptualise and curate a contemporary art exhibition inviting visitors to discover the “new” Helmkehof.
For the inaugural exhibition, we invited artists to explore the theme of “curiosity” to ignite interest in the newly reopened space. Visitors were able to rediscover the Helmkehof through curious installations as well as interactive art experiences.
Seven artists based across London, Berlin and Hamburg showcased their work in photography, fine art, installation, film, new media and sculpture. Many of the artists were also on hand to lead artistic, curatorial talks throughout the exhibition period.
The exhibition attracted local and international art luminaries and press as well as casual art appreciators and local residents and helped firmly establish the Helmkehof as an enduring hub for Hanover’s cultural and artistic community.
